Primeval S01E02
This episode of Primeval started off with the usual thrills and chills as a a giant tarantula jumped on a screaming female passenger in the London Underground subway, but then came screeching to an almost abrupt stop as Professor Cutter got mired down in details, dredging through ten years of his missing wife’s research for clues she might have known of the time anomalies before her disappearance into the past.
Meanwhile, Connor dragged zoologist Abby off into the woods on a wild goose chase after hearing about a supposed time anomaly sighting. While there, he proposed they cuddle up for warmth to ward off the chill and got shut down quickly as Abby probed Steven’s feelings for her.
Sometime during the night, a strange dinosaur like creature attacked their camp and chased the young scientists through the woods, but the entire thing turned out to be a hoax staged by Connor’s immature friends who assumed he was joking when he’d confessed the secret of the time anomalies to them earlier. The entire event got Professor Cutter so mad, he kicked Conner off the team. But, insisted Abby stay.
Later, while investigating a colony of giant spiders which may have attacked and killed a London Underground worker, Steven is attacked and bitten by a venomous Arthropleura that has clawed it’s way through a time anomaly.
Slipping in and out of consciousness, as he’s lying near death’s door in the tunnels just before rescue, Steven imagined he saw Helen, Professor Cutter’s long presumed dead wife.
By the time, he’s discovered, there is precious little time left to get him to the hospital.
To save Steven’s life, Professor Cutter must reunite with Connor and Abby in a search of the London Underground subway tunnels to find the giant arthropod so they can to extract a venom sample to create anti-venom before time runs out.
