In a New York Times Magazine article that George Lucas is apparently thinking of retiring. With the hurdles of getting his latest movie into theater, “Red Tails”, a film about the Tuskegee Airmen that was produced and even personally financed by Mr. Lucas could have place a bad taste in working on “blockbuster” movies.
A well known desire that he wishes to work more on small, art films is what drove him to his love of cinema. If anything is known to come from this, George Lucas will more than likely have the full capabilities of Skywalker Ranch to provide the sound and the special effects of Industrial Light and Magic will make the “art” movies have much more pop and flair then others.
